Dr. Tom Schutzius, currently Senior Scientist at ETH Zurich, was appointed as Assistant Professor for Multiphase Thermofluidics and Surface Nanoengineering. He conducts research into thermofluidics, surface science and surface engineering, as well as energy conversion processes.  

Dr. Tom Schutzius has been awarded the prestigious ERC Starting Grant to support his research on understanding the fundamentals of limescale formation on surfaces (scaling) and using this knowledge to rationally engineer "scale-​phobic" surfaces for applications at the water-​energy nexus.
